​Protection and social Rehabilitation center (AMAN), as a part of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, launched photography award trophy contest and “Non-violence” slogan in line with the International Day of Non-Violence celebration and in cooperation with Qatar Photographic Society.

The contest Goal and the jury

The aim of the contest is to raise awareness of the serious effect of violence on family and society in general and women and children in particular, and to promote a culture of social peace by encouraging individuals to portray and document their creations that reflects violence subject, especially that Aman Center will republish these images in campaigns and awareness activities.

Professional juries will evaluate according to an evaluation form set by the Assembly in accordance with the award committee of Aman Center.

Mansour Al-Saadi: Violence is not a phenomenon in Qatar

Mr. Mansour Al-Saadi, Executive Director of Protection and social Rehabilitation center (AMAN), expressed that violence is not considered a phenomenon in Qatar, as the violence rates in Qatar are much lower than the rates of global violence, and we thank God that Qatar is a country where everyone is safe and secure.

Abdulrahman Obaidan, Vice President of the Qatar Photographic Society, was delighted to participate in this important contest. "Such constructive competitions achieve knowledge and awareness in a creative and attractive way by drawing on the energies, talents, and abilities of creative individuals, as one photo may express thousands of words, easy to remember for a long period which ensure Its true value, he added, the committee has set specific agreed benchmarks for evaluation to ensure fairness and transparency among all competitors for the privilege of participating and winning.

He added that "AMAN has focused on providing various means for protection against violence, including the launch of Hotline 919, opening number of branches in the hospitals and the public prosecution, launching "help me" application to protect children, Siynar Game the first Qatari Game, friendly to the child, non-violent online game, and the center offers many rehabilitation services that provide protection against violence.
